Beneath the towering trees of Rathbun Lake, the cabins at Honey Creek Resort capture the essence of the classic “up north” family retreat. The newly constructed, upscale luxury cabins feature professional interior design creating a charming, welcoming atmosphere.

The cabins range from 1-bedroom with loft area to 4-bedrooms with two bathrooms. All cabins include beautiful full kitchens, the living room area is furnished in traditional arts-and-crafts style motif with sofa sleepers, fireplace and plasma televisions. Outside you will find wrap-around decks and walk-out patio with picnic table. 

• 28 cabins are nestled between the main lodge, The Preserve golf course and Rathbun Lake.
• Resort includes 50-slip boat dock, watersports and bike rental, and multi-purpose  trail system through woods and natural prairie

Summer Update
This is an exciting summer at Honey Creek Resort. Our new cabins and RV campground are all open, with natural landscaping grasses, intermixed with a cover crop while the new grasses mature around each cabin and RV site. We are proud of our emphasis on being “Green” environmentally at Honey Creek, inside and out!

Our carefully designed and engineered, bio retention and bioswale areas are filled with native grass landscaping, and are growing all around the resort. By early July, we will have barbecue grills at all of the cabins, and some cabins will have camp fire rings as well. 

Although heavy rains and the high waters of Rathbun Lake have kept us from completing our swimming beach, boat ramp, and some trails, our guests have found a great way to cool off at Island View Beach just a short drive from the resort. Guests have also been launching their boats a few minutes away at Honey Creek State Park boat ramp. Our docks are in and the trail from the outdoor patio to the docks is easy to navigate. Many of our trails are finished and being used by our guests every day.

Everybody loves our Buccaneer Bay Indoor Water Park where there are loads of fun things to do and the temperature is always 80 degrees! The Preserve Golf Course is beautiful this year, and our golfers have great things to say about the 18 scenic holes, bent grass fairways and carts with GPS.  

the sunrises and sunsets over the lake will boost your spirits while helping you feel in harmony with nature. We are truly one of the most scenic places in Iowa, and the entire region.

Come hungry and ready to dance! There will be entertainment provided by 9-mile North Band performing on July 23rd from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., as well as a variety of delicious food and beverages for you to enjoy.
